2 day Ocean Adventure

This two-day surfing waananga is about more than learning to ride waves. It’s about stepping into something new, building confidence, and connecting with yourself, others, and the ocean.

Over the weekend, participants will spend time at Cobden Breakwater alongside a supportive group, learning basic surf skills, water safety, and building comfort in the moana. No experience is needed. Wetsuits, surfboards, and guidance are all provided. What matters most is a willingness to give it a go.

Alongside time in the water, the waananga creates space for whakawhanaungatanga (relationship building) , kai, and activities that strengthen wellbeing, identity, and connection to te taiao (environment). Participants will be encouraged to support one another, challenge themselves, and reflect on what they are learning — both in and out of the water.
