Whānau Day at the Westland Rec Centre was an awesome kaupapa of community and connection among participants. Bringing together around 40 people, including both adults and children, the day was filled with splashing, smiles and laughter as whānau engaged in various games between. The interaction between parents and children was a highlight, as their smiles and laughter illuminated the gathering. The kaupapa ended with a shared kai of pizza, huarākau (fruit), snacks, ice cream, and ice blocks. Such gatherings are essential for strengthening bonds within the community and creating lasting memories for all involved.
